dead-of-eve-2240-amazon-and-smashwords

This is the first book I critiqued for Pam Godwin, an amazing apocalyptic thriller and an incredible introduction to an amazing lady and talented author.

It has been a long time since a book has had my heart racing and my pulse pounding. Dead of Eve grabbed me from the opening paragraph and never let go. There were many times I had to put it down just to catch my breath, so I could pick it up again and continue reading. I just had to know what happened next.

A virus is released which kills all the children and all the women, leaving the men alive. As they care for their dying sisters/wives/girlfriends/mothers they are attacked by the very ones they love and are turned into bug-like zombies, horrific aphid like creatures that take over the world.

Somehow, Evie survives. Her husband, a survivalist, cares for her as she sinks into a suicidal depression until the ghosts of her dead children force her from her bed. He trains her to survive, prepares her for the worst, and loves her with an intensity she'll never forget.

She sets about living in this apocalyptic world, enduring one loss after the next. Those few men who survive are worse than the aphid-zombies who hunt her, but there is a greater evil she must face.

The ghosts of her dead children will lead Evie on an adventure crossing the globe. She must survive against all odds. She'll make enemies, secure allies, and learn how to love again.

This is the first book in a trilogy of a debut novelist. The writing is vivid and palpable, drawing you into the pages where you're emotionally engaged from the very first page. It's not an easy story. It's not a fairytale. It's a story of survival. Of inner strength. Of triumph. And love.

A stand alone follow-on to the book Deliver, a must read of its own, Vanquish is a ride into the deepest, darkest depths of a romantic, psychological, erotic, pick you apart, and leave you wanting more and more and more. It’s a rollercoaster ride you don’t want to ever get off.

Pam Godwin has done it again with this latest installment. After each book of hers, I’m left wondering how she manages to take characters I shouldn’t like and turn them into people I can’t help but love.

Amber is an agoraphobic, OCD, shut-in with too many issues to count. She’s quirky and loveable, but broken and so crippled by mental illness it’s difficult to see how she can survive. Her inner resilience is what captivated me though, and kept me rooting for her from beginning to end. She’s crazy, no doubt about that, but also brave and smart. She’s not afraid to face her demons head on, whether they’re in her head or standing right in front of her in the form of Van Quiso. And she’s not one to allow something as simple as captivity to get her down. Amber fights Van with a wit and tenacity all her own. She’s crazy, but in a loveable way, and I have to admit there were times I was crazy jealous of her? Why? Well, have I mentioned Van?

He’s no hero. He’s the most despicable character I’ve ever met. Yet, Pam Godwin has this incredible skill to transform even the most horrible anti-hero into this sexy, loveable guy you want to curl up with and do all those things your mother warned you about. He’s SEXY AS HELL. I want to eat him up. But he’s twisted ten ways to Sunday. There’s not a character out there with a past as convoluted as Van’s. He’s a professed sadist, kidnapper, rapist, murderer, and trained sex slaves for eight years. That’s exactly what he has in mind for Amber. So how can anyone empathize with such a deplorable man? Well…

I never expected to find a warm, vulnerable heart beneath that dark hoodie, or a caring guy with such a rich sense of humor sitting behind his cold calculating stalker-ish persona. I can only tell you Van surprised me in so many ways. He’s incredibly flawed, a villain really, but in spite of his past mistakes, he strives to be a better man. Somehow…it happens.

All I can say is…you have to read this book!

Pam Goodwin has woven a dark masterpiece of two people, broken beyond repair, who find healing through passion, fear, trust and love. It’s a fascinating tale of the resiliency of the human soul told by a genius storyteller with an incredible gift with words. She hooks you with the first phrase and doesn’t let you go until the very last line. At the end you don’t even realize what’s happened to you, and have to pause to let it all sink in. Then you flip back to the first page, hungry to read it all again…

Loved. Every. Freakin’. Word.

This is the FOURTH book I've critiqued for Pam Godwin and she is an amazingly talented writer. This is the review I left on Amazon…if you haven't yet bought the book, go do so NOW!

PAM GODWIN has done it again! This is a story that will resonate with a wide audience because it will rock your world. It's a suspenseful romance, with spine-tingling, pulse-pounding romance buried beneath blackmail, corruption, deceit, sprinkled in the world of illegal racing, and founded on the legs of vengeance. Yeah, did I mention this was a romance? I kid you not! Pam Godwin's storytelling magic pulls this trick off.

DIRTY TIES is an amalgamation of H-O-T SEX, betrayal, L*O*V*E, corruption, and redemption all rolled up into one hell of a ride that will keep you on the edge of your seat from the first to the very last page. When you finish, you'll want start all over again. It starts fast-paced and never slows down. It's gritty, original, with plot twists and turns that won't let you catch your breath.

Kaci is a woman looking to take control. Evader is a man seeking revenge. This is what their lives have become. It's the dirty lies and ties that will bind them.

Kaci is rich, courageous, strong, brave, beautiful and trapped in an unconventional marriage, full of love, but lacking in what she desires most, passion. She's desperate to find happiness, but the secrets and deception of her family business are ties too strong to break. So, she lives on the edge, stalking a dark, enigmatic biker who makes her pulse soar with each of his illegal races. Evader is gorgeous and mysterious, and he never loses. He's exactly what she wants, but an affair with any man is the one thing that threatens everything she's worked to achieve.

Evader races to win. His solitary life goal is to enact his personal brand of justice on those who have wronged those he loves. He doesn't care who gets in his way and will use whoever it takes to achieve his goal, even the hot blonde who watches his races. He's the perfect anti-hero, one of the hottest, most appealing heroes I've read in a long time. So many facets to this man. So much to love. So much to hate. So much drool worthy intoxication detonating on the page.

When these two collide, the chemistry is nuclear hot and the sexual tension is explosive. Intimate moments steal your breath away.

And then comes Logan…

Dirty Ties is full of addicting plot twists and turns. It's a fast-paced page turning read, one that will consume your evening because it's impossible to put down.

This story has several amazing characters from the main characters of Kaci, Evader, and Logan, to the supporting characters of Collin and Benny, and yes, even to the worst of them all, Trent.
